This section of Melodisiac, I will talk about songs that I currently have in my ipod on constant rotation! I have a wide interest in music, so you never know what I might decide to feature! With a history of playing in concert band, some jazz band, pep band, marching band, singing in choir, even church choir, all of these different groups have developed my influence in the types of music I enjoy. So without further ado, lets talk about some of these songs that are getting serious airplay in my ipod!
Jaime Foxx "Blame It"This song is just sick! I have like 3 different versions on my ipod with appearances from J.D, Juelz Santana, and T-Pain. This track just sets the vibe and the tone for a fun night out at the club. Even though everyone and they mama is doing that "vocoder" sound, Jaime pulls it off very smoothly. I also listen very carefully to arrangements in songs, and I enjoy the arrangement of the "ahh's" in the background of this track. Very hot!
Ya Boy "We Run L.A."This is another song that is blowing up my ipod. The smooth beat feels like a drive at night in L.A. with the top down. It defiantly grabs the
essence of what it feels like any given night in L.A. It's very fun, and sexy....just like the people you see up and down Hollywood. I dig it.
Usher "Get Use To Her"This is a track I featured on here
earlier this month. And simply put... I just love Usher's arrangement on this song. Ush is defiantly one of the elite R&B singers out. Most male singers out now could not sing with such a cool and confident swag as Usher can. But again, I'm weak when it comes to a great arrangement. If you have a good ear, you can hear all the parts that he is singing, and that is something I truly respect and appreciate!
Brandy "Drum Life"Speaking of great arrangers, Brandy is defiantly at the top of that list! This song is a track that did not make the album, though it should of been. Produced by Timbaland and written by James Fauntleroy, the track exhibits some of Timbo's signature knocks and hits that only he could deliver and the lyrics are very metaphorical. This is a very hot track, and Brandy's vocals glide across this track so smoothly, she has me captivated the whole time. Brandy defiantly delivers what true fans love about her on this track.
