SNOOP DOGG GIVES CONCERT AT CLUB AVALON

Snoop Dogg held a concert at the club Avalon last night in Hollywood. And from the sound of my twits last night, it was a live show! The crowd got hype when Snoop started reciting the first lines to his hit "Nothing But A G Thang". He even did a tribute to 2 Pac and sang a country song! At one point of the show, he called a guy out from the audience for smoking weed and instructed him to pass it. Typical Dogg behavior!

You can currently catch Snoop Dogg every Tuesday night at 9pm ET on MTV show "Dogg After Dark".

VIDEO:NINA SKY "ON SOME BULLS***"

The sister duo maybe most remembered for their hit single "Move Ya Body" back in 2004 which reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The girls have been working hard, and have been seen out and about on the scene. But it looks like they are gearing up for a new album. The single has been out and getting airplay mostly in New York since January, but they have finally made a video for the single. Their new album, currently titled The Musical, is slated to release sometime this year. There is no word on a definite date yet. Keep up the grind!

Check out the twin singers Nina Sky in their new video, "On Some Bulls***".

VIDEO: KERI HILSON-"KNOCK YOU DOWN" FEAT. KANYE WEST& NE-YO

With Keri Hilson's debut 'In A Perfect World' finally set to arrive in stores tomorrow, the singer-songwriter dropped the video for her latest single 'Knock You Down' today. The Kanye West and Ne-Yo assisted song is definitely one of the album's standout cuts IMO, so it's great to see it get the single treatment.

TAKE IT BACK: NEXT-BEAUTY QUEEN

How many of ya'll remember this song from Next? This when R&B was pretty cool, and NExt was pretty innovative in their music and lyrics. This is true though..there was this one fine girl at my school and she always was with these older white men, and I was like what's REALLY going on! She got like 3 kids by 3 different daddies now...saw her profile on myspace, and one of here kids look asian...Anyway, enjoy the video.

JAIME FOXX VIDEO: "BLAME IT" FEAT. T-PAIN

Check out the new video "Blame It" by Jaime Foxx featuring T-Pain! This video has more cameos than I can count on one hand! You'll see everyone from Ron Howard, Quincy Jones, Forest Whitaker, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jermaine Dupri, Morris Chestnut, Samual Jackson, Tatyana Ali, Cedric The Entertainer, Bill Bellamy....and probably more if I looked at the video a couple more times! This video looks like it was alot of fun...fits the song perfectly!

“Blame It” is the third single off his third studio album Intuition.

A "CHUCK" FULL OF MUSIC

This section of Melodisiac, I will talk about songs that I currently have in my ipod on constant rotation! I have a wide interest in music, so you never know what I might decide to feature! With a history of playing in concert band, some jazz band, pep band, marching band, singing in choir, even church choir, all of these different groups have developed my influence in the types of music I enjoy. So without further ado, lets talk about some of these songs that are getting serious airplay in my ipod!

Jaime Foxx "Blame It"
This song is just sick! I have like 3 different versions on my ipod with appearances from J.D, Juelz Santana, and T-Pain. This track just sets the vibe and the tone for a fun night out at the club. Even though everyone and they mama is doing that "vocoder" sound, Jaime pulls it off very smoothly. I also listen very carefully to arrangements in songs, and I enjoy the arrangement of the "ahh's" in the background of this track. Very hot!

Ya Boy "We Run L.A."
This is another song that is blowing up my ipod. The smooth beat feels like a drive at night in L.A. with the top down. It defiantly grabs the essence of what it feels like any given night in L.A. It's very fun, and sexy....just like the people you see up and down Hollywood. I dig it.

Usher "Get Use To Her"
This is a track I featured on here earlier this month. And simply put... I just love Usher's arrangement on this song. Ush is defiantly one of the elite R&B singers out. Most male singers out now could not sing with such a cool and confident swag as Usher can. But again, I'm weak when it comes to a great arrangement. If you have a good ear, you can hear all the parts that he is singing, and that is something I truly respect and appreciate!

Brandy "Drum Life"
Speaking of great arrangers, Brandy is defiantly at the top of that list! This song is a track that did not make the album, though it should of been. Produced by Timbaland and written by James Fauntleroy, the track exhibits some of Timbo's signature knocks and hits that only he could deliver and the lyrics are very metaphorical. This is a very hot track, and Brandy's vocals glide across this track so smoothly, she has me captivated the whole time. Brandy defiantly delivers what true fans love about her on this track.

TAKE IT BACK: WHITNEY HOUSTON-YOU GIVE GOOD LOVE

This song always remind me of Valentine's Day and Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I love You". I think because when I was a kid watching the Disney Channel, I always remembered them doing these specials with Mickey & Minni, Donald & Daisy, Goofy and that girl Goofy... I don't remember her name. But they would show clips of these characters in little "moments of love" behind these songs that played in the 80's...those were the days! HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

What song's remind you of Valentine's Day?

HOT STUFF: HOT 2 DEF-"LEGGINS AND HEELS"

A friend of mine posted this song on facebook and as soon as I saw J.LO's ass, I was into it! The heavy bass makes the feeling of this song sound like "serious business in going down"! The idea of "leggins and heels" is a very cleaver concept being that this style choice has turned into a simple fashion combination as t-shirt and jeans.

The lyrics are repetitive, but when you are drunk in a club, you don't want to spend too much time trying to remember lyrics! The artist, Hot 2 Def, a native to Chicago, may have a hot club banger on his hands! Hot Stuff!

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis Working On New Janet Album

In an interview last week, Jimmy Jam, one half of legendary production group with Terry Lewis, revealed that he is currently working on the new Janet Jackson album. This will be the 1st time since 2006's 20 Y.O that Jackson and the duo have worked together. This should be interesting being that Janet left her lable at Island Def Jam after just one album!

INDIA.AIRE: TESTIMONY:VOL. 2. LOVE & POLITICS

India. Aire is back! With her follow-up from her 2006 album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship. She will be releasing Testimony:Vol. 2, Love & Politics today February 10th. Her voice always seems to tap deep into your soul and transcend you into a place where the sun is just setting, and you can hear the sounds of nature flourishing in the distance. Her voice is warm, and beautiful. This album sounds like it continues this legacy of beautiful perspective, and postive optimism. I'm looking forward to getting this album, and if you you use music as therapy, you should too. This is one dose of medicine you do not want to miss out!

Grammy 2009 Performances

Here are a couple of performances from the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. None of them seemed to be anything special, Swagger Like Us seemed to be the most exciting since it was so many hot artist on stage at once. It was also nice to see J.Hud since her family ordeal. She looked and sounded great. What was your favorite performance of the night?

WOW! CHRIS BROWN ARRESTED!

R&B singer Chris Brown was arrested Sunday and charged with making criminal threats stemming from an alleged assault on his "girlfriend". Her name hasn't been released, but there are people saying it was R&B singer Rhianna.

An official police statement did not name Rihanna, but said the woman in the incident “suffered visible injuries.”

Details of what took place between the two were sketchy, but authorities and sources said that about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Brown and a woman got into an argument in a rented Lamborghini on North June Street in Hancock Park. Brown stopped the car, the two got out, and the argument escalated. A witness called 911, but police said Brown was gone by the time officers arrived at the scene. The woman identified Brown as her assailant.

Radar Online has obtained an image of Chris Brown pumping gas at gas station with Rhianna in the car just hours before the incident.

Brown turned himself in to LAPD at 6:30 p.m. and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, a charge that carries a maximum penalty of four years. He later was release on bond for $50,000. This explains why he didn't show up for a scheduled appearance at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards show! Stay tuned, I'm sure more will be unraveling about this...

Sounds like Lil Wayne has went full throttle with the rock sound! His 1st single "Prom Queen" has gotten mixed reviews, but that's not stopping him from finishing what he started. Peep out this track "Amazing Love". No confirmation of this being on the new album...check it out!

Ginuwine is continuing on with his comeback, with the leaked track, "Can't Blame You". It seems that he is making good with Bryan Micheal Cox, his tracks seem to work good with Ginuwine, but everything leaked has been mid-tempo. Looking forward to hearing some up-tempo's. This track is cool, but it sounds like the background singer is singing more than Ginuwine. Check it out!

If you don't know who Steph Jones is by now, you will soon enough. Formally signed to Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace (DTP), this talented artist is doing some big things within the industry. Check him out in the studio with another soulful crooner, Angie Stone! Her voice is defiantly a melodisiac to my ears!

Usher: Get Use To Her

Usher is currently in the studio recording what is to be a new album. And a new song titled Get Use To Her has leaked it's way onto the net. And from the lyrics, he letting the haters and nay-sayers know that he love his wife and she ain't going nowhere...."If you got love for me, then you gotta have love for her." I'm pretty sure that he is talking about his baby mama. Let em know Ush! Check it out!

Mims: Move (If You Wanna)

The "this is why I'm hot" star Mims is back with a new club bouncing, car-knocking, single titled "Move (If You Wanna)" produced by Chicago producers, Da Internz. The hard-hitting, high energy of the beat and deep "move if you wanna" voice alone makes you want to "move", but lyrically, I was expecting a flow to come a little harder than this. I can easily hear Jay-Z killing this beat, or possibly Lil Wayne. Especially with his new album supposedly about to drop in March. The beat alone may carry him and make the clubs go crazy, but he's gotta come a lot harder than this. I hate when a good beat is wasted on a weak flow. What do you think?

Click here to listen to song!

And for all you freestylers and singers out there, get the instrumental to this track here.

CIARA FEAT. YOUNG JEEZY: NEVER EVER VIDEO

Check out the new video from Ciara titled "Never Ever". It's slated to come off her anticipated album "Fantasy Ride" due out in April. The song features the "street's favorite rapper" Young Jeezy.

If you know anything about that old school, then the melody should sound familiar to you. This is a remake from one of the old school music groups, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes "If You Don't Know Me By Now". Back then, they use to have a complete sentence for a song title! She has defiantly came up since the "Goodies" days. What do you think?

...is that Reuben Studdard in the beginning? He look like he lost a lot of weight!

A TAKE IT BACK FIX: TEEDRA MOSES: BE YOUR GIRL

This song isn't exactly old school, but this was released a couple of years back by a talented and beautiful artist by the name of Teedra Moses. This was the lead single to her album "Complex Simplicity" back in 2005. She has yet to get that mainstream attention, but I think that is what I like about her.

She was scheduled to release her second album on a new lable TVT titled "The Lioness" back in 2007, but unfortuntaly the lable filed for bankruptcy, and the album has yet to release. I believe she will hit one day. As long as she keeps making sexy quiet storm bangers like this, she should be good! This always puts you in that laid back mood. The video fits the vibe perfect!

Brandy to Appear on Ray J's Reality "Love Fest"

Brandy will be featured on Ray J's much-anticipated VH1 reality series "For the Love of Ray J" !

According to VH1, Brandy and several members of Ray J's family will party with the 'flavor girls' and help the former "Sexy Can I" singer choose what he says is a "ride or die chick".

In a release sent Thursday, VH1 also says "Ray J's success in the entertainment business has brought him fame, fortune, and a never-ending supply of gorgeous girls. After years of hookups and rocky relationships he's ready to break away from the gold-diggers and groupies and find a unique lady capable of restoring his faith in women."

"For The Love Of Ray J" premieres on VH1 Monday, Feb. 2 at 10:30pm ET/PT

John Legend To Headline Super Bowl Pre-Game Show w/ T-Pain

Five-time Grammy Award winning recording artist and concert performer, JOHN LEGEND will help kick off Super Bowl XLIII as part of the pregame festivities at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay on Sunday, February 1, the NFL and NBC announced yesterday. This will be John's second Super Bowl appearance.

Supposidly, T-Pain is going to join John Legend with an extra "vocoder version" of Green Light! I'm interested to see how that is going to turn out.

IN DA LAB: Diddy Working On A New Album

Check out Diddy in the studio working on a track to his new album. Even though Danity Kane split, he still has those girls under contract, and you know damn right Diddy about to use them! If not collectively, separately. The person singing sounds like Dawn from the group(which seems to be the more promising member of the group to successfully be solo), but I'm not 100%.

ELECTRIK RED: SO GOOD

Check out this hot four member female group called Electrik Red! This group has been floating under the radar for a minute. "So Good" is actually their third single, from their debut album, How to Be a Lady: Volume 1, which is produced by Tricky Stewart and The Dream. "So Good" is a sexy mid-tempo track wit the vibe of Prince in the air. The periodic "Prince claps" slap me back into the late 80's every time I hear it!

If you're liking their vibe, check out their Myspace!

Shout out to Brian from concreteloop for putting me on to them!

The Dream Talks New Mariah Carey Album 'MC3'

I'mma need them to come up with a better name this 3rd time around! Ain't they learned the last 2 times!

Lil Wayne: Prom Queen

‘Prom Queen’ is the lead single from the forthcoming Lil Wayne rock album Rebirth, set for release April 7, 2009. The official debut of the single was via live streaming of his San Diego concert in on January 27, 2009 on MySpace. I don't know about you, but I can dig what Lil Wayne is doing. I know some of you black folks got something to say about him doing rock music, but I knew it would be inevitable with Wayne. He even said in a recent interview Lil Wayne can be quoted saying, "Kanye has made it easier for me to sing on my next album". Who knew he actually would be trying to pull an "r & b"

Click HERE to listen to track!

Watch Lil Wayne's live performance of "Prom Queen" as he "fingers" his guitar...next time play it, not play with it!

HOT STUFF: CHELLY-TOOK THE NIGHT

This track is HOTT! The song, by Chelly, came out of obscurity on a radio show in Los Angeles and is starting to blow up on the West Coast radio scene! The pounding beat, and early 90's club sound runs ramped on this track. The lyrics are very simple, with it's elementary school chanting and random "out-of order" counting, makes you want to hear this again and again. There is something so off, yet so cool about this track. You'll either really love it, or you won't. What do you think?

GINUWINE: LAST CHANCE

Ginuwine is back! On a new lable, a new album in the works, and now his first new single titled "Last Chance". The song is a nice mid-tempo track with a nice rock and chant at the beginning and throughout the song. It also hints at that classic vibe of Ginuwine with the use of some guitar and strings. The track was written by Adonis and produced by Bryan Micheal Cox.

Bobby Valentino Releases Mixtape

I've been a fan of Bobby Valentino since before he was signed with Disturbing The Peace. With his new album "The Rebirth" coming out February 10th, he gives a little "preview" before the album. Actually, since his 1st album, Mr. Valentino has knocked out a mixtape just before his albums release. This proves to me, that this dude is serious about his craft! Keep on ya grind! Success comes to those who work hard!

Welcome to Melodisiac!

What up! This blog is going to be my playground as far as expressing my EXTREME love for music...ALL MUSIC! the name "Melodisiac" is a fusion of the words melody and afrodisiac. Music is defiantly an afrodisiac for me. It always puts me in a place other things can't. A good melody can ignite a fire in me to be a better person, or to be more sexual, or get hype than a mutha! And I've never been big on any type of sport. So I say music is my sport! Not everyone will like sports, but EVERYONE will love music! So I'm just going to give my take on what I love and hate about music, music reviews, and music to look out for! Stay tuned...just like music, you never know how the melody will turn!
